What is Tether (USDT)?
Tether (USDT) is the world’s most popular stablecoin, launched in 2014. USDT is pegged 1:1 to the US dollar, and the issuer Tether holds reserves in dollars, short-term US Treasury bills and other assets. That is why USDT is used as a “digital dollar”: to protect funds from crypto volatility, settle with partners and move money quickly between exchanges and wallets.
USDT is issued on several blockchains. It is the same dollar on different networks — and addresses, fees and transfer speed differ between them.
Which USDT network to choose: TRC-20, ERC-20, BEP-20 or Polygon?
USDT TRC-20 (TRON network) is the cheapest and most common option for transfers: minimal fees and confirmation in a minute or two. USDT ERC-20 runs on Ethereum: reliable, but network fees are higher. USDT BEP-20 is on BNB Smart Chain, and USDT Polygon is on Polygon with low fees. Only send USDT on the network selected in your order — a transfer on another network may be lost.
How to sell USDT for hryvnia?
