What is Monero?
Monero (XMR) is the best-known privacy cryptocurrency, launched in 2014. Unlike Bitcoin, where every address and amount is visible on a public blockchain, Monero hides the sender, recipient and amount of every transaction by default. That is why XMR is valued by people who care about financial privacy.
Monero is developed by an open community with no central company. The network is upgraded regularly, and XMR can be mined on an ordinary CPU, which keeps the network more decentralised.
How does Monero provide privacy?
Monero combines three technologies: ring signatures mix your signature with those of other users, stealth addresses create a one-time address for each payment, and RingCT hides the amount. As a result an outside observer cannot trace who sent how much to whom.
How does the Monero network work?
Monero uses Proof-of-Work with the RandomX algorithm, optimised for regular CPUs. A new block is produced roughly every 2 minutes. After the main emission ended, the network creates a small permanent miner reward (tail emission) so that security does not depend on fees alone.
What drives the Monero price?
The XMR price depends on demand for private payments, regulatory decisions and the coin’s availability on exchanges (some major exchanges have delisted XMR), as well as the overall crypto market. The rate to hryvnia also depends on the dollar rate in Ukraine.
How to sell Monero for hryvnia?
There is no direct XMR → hryvnia direction at the moment, but you can get hryvnia in two steps: swap XMR for USDT TRC-20, then sell the USDT to a Monobank, PrivatBank or other bank card, or an IBAN. The rate for each step is shown in advance.
What to check before exchanging XMR?
A Monero address is long (95 characters) and starts with 4 or 8 — copy it in full rather than typing it. A Monero transaction needs several confirmations, so crediting can take a little longer than on faster networks. As with other coins, incoming funds go through an AML check.
How to exchange Monero on Cryptabar?
Enter the amount in the calculator — the rate, amount to receive, minimum and reserve are shown right away, before you create an order.
If you receive XMR, enter your Monero wallet address (starts with 4 or 8). If you send XMR, enter where to receive the payout: a wallet address or a card number.
Check the details and create the order. No sign-up required. Send the funds to the address in the order — the rate is locked once payment is received.
Automatic crypto directions complete in 1–5 minutes on average after network confirmations; hryvnia payouts usually take 5–30 minutes during working hours.
