What is XRP?
XRP is the native coin of the XRP Ledger, launched in 2012. The network was created by David Schwartz, Jed McCaleb and Arthur Britto, and the company Ripple uses XRP in its cross-border payment solutions for banks and payment providers. The core idea of XRP is to move value between countries in seconds with minimal fees.
All 100 billion XRP were created at launch, and there is no mining. Part of the supply belongs to Ripple and is gradually released into circulation on a predefined schedule.
How does the XRP Ledger work?
The XRP Ledger uses neither mining nor classic staking. Transactions are confirmed by independent validators through its own consensus protocol: a new ledger state is finalised every 3–5 seconds. Transfer fees are fractions of a cent, and a small part is burned to protect the network from spam.
What is a Destination Tag?
Exchanges often use one XRP address for many customers and tell payments apart by a numeric tag — the Destination Tag. If your order shows a tag, you must include it in the transfer. Without the tag the funds reach the address but are not automatically credited to your order.
What drives the XRP price?
The XRP price depends on news around Ripple and its bank partnerships, US regulatory decisions, the coin release schedule, exchange demand and the overall crypto market. The rate to hryvnia also depends on the dollar rate in Ukraine.
How to sell XRP for hryvnia?
