👀 Binance Co-CEO Clarifies Exchange’s Approach to Law Enforcement Requests 🔹 Binance Co-CEO Richard Teng explained how the crypto exchange collaborates with law enforcement agencies across various jurisdictions when processing information requests. 🔹 The statement comes following media reports alleging that Binance handed over sensitive customer personal data pursuant to a request from Russian law enforcement authorities. 🔹 Binance's Co-CEO emphasized that the exchange cooperates with law enforcement in all jurisdictions regardless of whether it actively operates in a given market. Notably, the company exited Russia in 2023 after selling its local business to CommEX, which has since shut down. 🔹 According to him, responding to lawful data requests is a compliance obligation for any regulated financial institution and should not be interpreted as taking sides. The exchange evaluates every inquiry individually and cooperates on a strictly neutral basis, Teng noted.
