They are challenging the freeze of approximately $42.4 million in USDT, which they claim occurred without a court warrant or formal legal order. 🔹 According to the complaint, on October 30, 2025, Tether blacklisted ten Ethereum network addresses holding a total of 42,417,785.62 USDT. The plaintiffs allege the stablecoin issuer acted solely on an informal request from a Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agent. 🔹 Federal authorities did not obtain an official asset seizure warrant until February 2026. The plaintiffs argue they purchased the tokens on the secondary market with no direct contractual agreement with Tether, and are seeking an order to lift the freeze, monetary damages, and disgorgement of interest earned on reserves during the freeze.
