👀 Malaysia Unveils Results of Crackdown on Illegal Crypto Mining Since 2022

🔹 The government of Malaysia announced that law enforcement agencies have executed a massive campaign against illicit crypto mining operations utilizing stolen electricity. As of May 2026, authorities have confiscated 75,578 mining devices and detained 629 individuals, according to local media reports.

🔹 Officials emphasized that the crackdown on unauthorized mining is intensifying due to the substantial financial damage inflicted on the energy grid and the resulting risks to power supply stability.

🔹 Malaysia's Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Datuk Seri Shamsul Anuar Nasarah, disclosed in parliament that exactly 3,049 raids were carried out nationwide during this timeframe.

🔹 According to the minister, law enforcement agencies fully intend to continue tightening oversight and strengthening enforcement against illegal mining activities moving forward.
